In coordination with the investment committee, Wayne is instrumental in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Hollow Brook’s investment policy. Before joining the firm, he served as a senior managing director at Ingalls & Snyder, LLC, and earlier as vice chairman of KBW Asset Management. He also was a partner of equity investments for Lord Abbett & Company and partner and chairman of the Investment Policy Committee for Prescott Ball & Turben. He currently serves on the board of directors of NYSE listed Reaves Utility Income Fund (UTG) and Riley Exploration Permian, Inc. (REPX). Previously, Wayne had served on the board of directors of PetroQuest Energy (PQ) and Annaly Capital Management (NLY). He also is a trustee of the Atlantic Salmon Federation and the National Wildlife Federation Endowment. Wayne received a BA in economics from Lafayette College, where he is a trustee emeritus. He is an avid hunter and fly fisherman and a member of various sporting clubs.

Thomas J. Girard

Thomas J. Girard served as the Chief Investment Officer, Fixed Income for NYL Investors until June 2018. NYL Investors is a wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company, the largest mutual life insurance company in the United States.  Mr. Girard oversaw the management of $145 billion in fixed income assets, 65 investment professionals, and was responsible for a $140 million P&L.  Mr. Girard was also responsible for setting investment strategy, leading committee meetings, and overseeing risk management of all fixed income portfolios. He was a member of NYL Investors Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team and was responsible for providing annual reviews to the Investment Committee of the New York Life Board of Directors as well as Credit Rating Agencies. Mr. Girard also served on the Board of Directors for the New York Life Insurance Company, Arizona as well as on the Financial Risk Steering Committee of New York Life. During his tenure at NYL Investors, Mr. Girard was instrumental in building the firm’s 3rd party asset management business. His USD, fixed income expertise was widely sought after by both domestic and foreign investors.  At its peak, this business represented $22 billion in assets and included CLO’s, Stable Value, and Institutional Insurance assets. Prior to joining NYL Investors, Mr. Girard served as a Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income for Robeco Investment Management, Weiss Peck & Greer. In this capacity, Mr. Girard oversaw $11 billion and was a key architect of the overall investment philosophy and process. He was a member of the Operating Committee and the Investment Policy Committee, achieving successful track records across all investment strategies. Mr. Girard also held investment positions of increasing responsibility at Bankers Trust Investment Management and J.P. Morgan, overseeing large institutional relationships and the securities lending portfolio. Mr. Girard began his career as a staff accountant at Peat Marwick Main & Co, working on audits in banking, manufacturing, and service industries and ultimately rising to a supervisory position. He is an M.B.A graduate of Fordham University, holds a B.S. from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY, and earned a license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Governor Thomas H. Kean

Since July 2005, Hon. Thomas H. Kean, Tom, has served as the President of THK Consulting, LLC. Mr. Kean served as the President of Drew University from 1990 to July 2005. On December 16, 2002, he was named by President George W. Bush to head the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks upon the United States. Hon. Kean served as the Chairman of the 9/11 Commission from 2002 to 2004 and now serves as the Chairman of the 9/11 Public Discourse Project. Previously, he was the Governor of New Jersey from 1982 to 1990. While Governor, Mr. Kean served on the President’s Education Policy Advisory Committee, as the Chairman of the Education Commission of the States, and the National Governor’s Association Task Force on Teaching. He remains one of the most popular Governors in New Jersey’s history. Hon. He was rated among America’s most effective state leaders by Newsweek magazine, noted for tax cuts that spurred 0.75 million new jobs, a federally replicated welfare reform program, landmark environmental policies, and more than 30 education reforms. He delivered the keynote address at the 1988 Republican National Convention and was re-elected for a second term by the largest margin in state history. Kean holds an M.A. from Columbia University Teachers College and a B.A. from Princeton University.

W. James McNerney Jr.

W. James McNerney Jr. served as CEO of The Boeing Company until his retirement in 2015. In 2015 Mr. McNerney was named CEO of the Year by Chief Executive magazine. Mr. McNerney has enjoyed a long and distinguished career and has occupied senior leadership roles at several respected Fortune 100 companies including serving as Chairman and CEO of both 3M and Boeing. Prior to those roles, Mr. McNerney spent almost twenty years at General Electric where he held top executive positions including CEO of GE Aircraft Engines and GE Lighting as well as executive vice president of GE Capital, one of the world’s largest financial service companies. Before joining GE, Mr. McNerney worked at The Procter & Gamble Company (“P&G”) and McKinsey & Co. Mr. McNerney has served on several public company boards and is currently on the board of P&G. Today he serves as an active Senior Advisor at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, LLC. Mr. McNerney earned a B.A. from Yale University and has an M.B.A from Harvard Business School.

From 2020 to 2024 Andrew was co CIO of Hollow Brook. Prior to Hollow Brook Andrew served as global portfolio manager with Lazard Asset Management for seventeen years and as a global portfolio manager at Zurich Scudder Investments for five years prior to that. At Lazard and Scudder, Andrew was responsible for a long only global equity portfolio with average assets under management of $12 billion for institutional clients in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, and the Middle East. Prior to Lazard, Andrew was a partner at Baring Brothers & Co. Ltd. where he founded the equity capital markets business. Before joining Baring Brothers, he was a banker at Banque Indosuez in Paris and Bahrain. Earlier, Andrew was a banker at Banque Arabe et Internationale d’Investissement (BAII) in Paris before joining the international banking department at Wells Fargo in San Francisco and London. Andrew began his career as a trainee in the International Dept. at William Brandt’s Sons & Co. Ltd. and then moved to be a Middle East representative in Beirut and Cairo. Andrew attended Edinburgh University and is fluent in English, French, and Arabic bringing Hollow Brook a global perspective and wealth of experience in portfolio management, capital markets and risk management. Andrew lives in Maine and enjoys cruising and racing his sailing boat, classic cars, playing the piano, and keeping up with his 10 year old daughter.

Robert D. Hormats

Robert Hormats has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in government, finance, academia, and international business. He has served in senior roles in the administrations of five U.S. presidents of both political parties, most recently as Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Hormats served on the National Security Council staff and as a senior economic advisor to Dr. Henry Kissinger, where he played a key role in international economic, trade, energy, and diplomatic matters, including the opening of U.S. relations with China and the response to the global energy crisis of the 1970s.
