Alan L. Bazaar

Alan is responsible for firm-wide operations as well as investment research and portfolio management. Prior to Hollow Brook, Alan spent more than a decade with Richard L. Scott Investments, LLC. He served as managing director and portfolio manager as well as co-manager of the public equity portfolio, responsible for all aspects of the investment decision-making process. Alan currently serves on the board of Orthofix Medical Inc. (NASDAQ: OFIX). Previously, Alan served as a director of the board of Wireless Telecom Group, Inc. (NYSE: WTT), PDL BioPharma (NASDAQ: PDLI), Hudson Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: HSON), Sparton Corporation (NYSE: SPA), LoJack Corporation (NASDAQ: LOJN), Media Sciences, Inc. (NYSE: MSII), and NTS, Inc. (NYSE: NTS). He also served on the board of Airco Industries, Inc., a privately held manufacturer of aerospace products. Earlier, he worked at Arthur Andersen LLP, holding positions in both the assurance and financial buyers practices as well as serving as a supervisory senior consultant in its business fraud and investigation services unit. Alan received a BA in history from Bucknell University and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He is a Certified Public Accountant. In his free time, Alan enjoys spending time with his family, equestrian show jumping, and training for triathlons.

Philip Richter

Philip is the President and Partner of Hollow Brook Wealth Management where he oversees firm-wide client relations, marketing and business development, and sits on the investment committee. Philip is involved with asset allocation, manager selection, and equity research. Philip previously served on the board of directors of WidePoint Corporation (NYSE: WYY). Currently, Philip sits on the board of the United States Equestrian Team Foundation, the United States Equestrian Federation, Revs Institute, and the Pray Family Foundation. Philip is the Chairman of the Lake Placid Horse Show, and the Treasurer of the Hampton Classic Horse Show. Philip received a BA from Boston College and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University. Philip is a vintage car enthusiast who maintains a collection of modern classics and pre-war motorcycles. He participates in international car shows, hosts the Turtle Invitational (a biennial car show in Bedford, NY), and is a regular contributor to many equine and collector car publications. Philip also competes in equestrian show jumping in the high amateur-owner division.

Phoebe Rubenstein, Esq.

Phoebe is responsible for supporting President Philip Richter & CEO Alan Bazaar in firm-wide initiatives, operations and special projects. Prior to joining Hollow Brook, Phoebe spent over a decade in public service and the non-profit sector. Most recently, serving as Chief of Staff at NYC Administration for Children’s Services, as well as practicing in the agency’s family law litigation unit. Previously, Phoebe worked in the criminal defense field both in Florida and New York. Phoebe holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Political Science from Florida Gulf Coast University, and a J.D. from New York Law School. She is admitted to the bars of New York and New Jersey. In her spare time, Phoebe enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants and spending time with family.

Timothy Whelan, CPA

Tim is responsible for corporate development and strategic planning, as well as leading the Family Office Services practice which includes providing fractional C-suite expertise. Prior to joining Hollow Brook, Tim’s experience includes 25 years with private equity owned and publicly listed companies in the technology and communications sectors, responsible for strategic planning, risk management, operational execution, and financial management. He has served in multiple C-suite leadership roles including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Executive Officer and has led the successful completion of over 20 M&A transactions, including changes of capital structure, along with the resulting integrations and related equity and debt financings. Most recently, he was the CEO and Board member of Wireless Telecom Group Inc. (NYSE: WTT), a global provider of mission critical communication and testing solutions to military, defense, semiconductor, and telecommunications infrastructure customers. At WTT, he was responsible for executing multiple successful acquisitions and a successful series of sum-of-the-parts divestitures. Tim has also served as independent director on the Boards of Edgewater Technologies (NASDAQ: EDGW) and the USO of Metropolitan NY/NJ. Tim has successfully earned his Director Certification from the National Association of Corporate Directors. Tim is a CPA and began his career at EY after serving as an Officer in the US Navy, following his graduation from Villanova University with a BS in Accountancy. Michael T. Meechan, CFA

Mike is responsible for assisting with investment analysis, portfolio management, client relations, and business development. Before joining Hollow Brook, Mike was the Investment Research Director at Ladenburg Asset Management. At Ladenburg, he evaluated investment strategies to build out multi-asset class model portfolios. Mike also focused on the firm’s high net worth platform serving as a main point of contact for clients. Mike graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Minor in Business Administration through the Gabelli School of Business. He has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is an active member of the CFA Society New York. Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and training in CrossFit.

Robert Patrissi, CPA

Rob is the Controller and Director of Compliance at Hollow Brook Wealth Management, where he is responsible for overseeing the firm’s financial reporting, accounting operations, and regulatory compliance functions.

Prior to joining the firm, Rob spent 24 years at Morgan Stanley within the Wealth Management and Institutional Securities Finance departments. Over the course of his tenure, he developed extensive experience in financial management, financial reporting, and controls across complex business lines. Earlier in his career, he worked as an auditor at Ernst & Young, where he served clients in the finance, retail, distribution, and manufacturing industries.

Rob is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Villanova University.

Outside of work, he is an avid sports fan, a golfer, and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

Brett St. John, CAIA

Brett is responsible for investment research, due diligence, and portfolio management activities at Hollow Brook, partnering closely with the investment team on strategy, manager evaluation, and portfolio construction across equities, fixed income, and alternative assets. Prior to joining Hollow Brook, Brett served as Senior Portfolio Strategist at Coastal Bridge Advisors in Westport, CT, where he partnered directly with the CIO on strategy, portfolio construction, and portfolio management for a multi-generational family office. In that role, he designed and launched the firm’s first risk-based allocation models and first managed equity portfolio. Earlier in his career, Brett held investment performance and analytics roles at Fiducient Advisors and Voya Financial, where he produced GIPS-compliant institutional performance reports, and at Bloomberg L.P., where he oversaw data integrity for more than 500 U.S. and Canadian equity issuers.

Brett earned a degree in Economics from the University of Connecticut and a Master’s in Investment Management and Financial Analysis from Creighton University’s Heider College of Business. He holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation, a Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute, and the Series 65 license, and is currently a Level III CFA Candidate. Outside of work, Brett enjoys reading, running, and golfing, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Robert McNerney

Rob manages the firm’s marketing efforts and supports business development. He is a marketing leader with a background spanning the public and private sectors, resulting in a blend of political, international, and entrepreneurial experiences. Prior to Hollow Brook, Rob’s career path spanned from co-founding a digital marketing firm to leading the Australian Prime Minister’s digital campaign with IMGE. He has also served as a communications specialist and event organizer for the US Secretary of Commerce, and most recently consulted on business strategy at 3M. Rob received a degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan and then went on to earn his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.

Carolyn Yun, CPA, CFP, AEP

Carolyn is responsible for financial planning analysis, income and estate tax planning, client relations, and business development. Before joining Hollow Brook, Carolyn was a Financial Advisor at Altfest Personal Wealth Management. At Altfest, she managed the core financial planning needs of clients and implemented the firm’s income and estate tax planning strategies. Prior to that, she served ultra-high net worth clients as a fund accountant for a New York City based hedge fund. Carolyn received a BA in Communications from Vanderbilt University as well as a MA in Accountancy from Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management. She is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner. During her free time, Carolyn enjoys exploring the local parks and playgrounds with her two kids and husband around Westchester.

Kristin Fong

Kristin joined Hollow Brook as a Client Advisor, supporting client relations, financial planning, the investment team with portfolio management and investment research. Before joining Hollow Brook, Kristin was a Junior Portfolio Manager at Victory Capital in their NYC office. At Victory, Kristin helped to manage a long-only growth equity strategy. Prior to that, Kristin was a Consultant at FactSet, assisting asset managers around the NYC area. Kristin received a BS in Economics-Finance, with a minor in Global Studies from Bentley University. In her free time, Kristin enjoys traveling, baking, and volunteering with the intellectually disabled population in the Westchester/Putnam area.
