W. James McNerney Jr. served as CEO of The Boeing Company until his retirement in 2015. In 2015 Mr. McNerney was named CEO of the Year by Chief Executive magazine. Mr. McNerney has enjoyed a long and distinguished career and has occupied senior leadership roles a several respected Fortune 100 companies including serving as Chairman and CEO of both 3M and Boeing. Prior to those roles, Mr. McNerney spent almost twenty years at General Electric where he held top executive positions including CEO of GE Aircraft Engines and GE Lighting as well as executive vice president of GE Capital, one of the world’s largest financial service companies. Before joining GE, Mr. McNerney worked at The Procter & Gamble Company (“P&G”) and McKinsey & Co. Mr. McNerney has served on several public company boards and is currently on the board of P&G. Today he serves as an active Senior Advisor at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, LLC. Mr. McNerney earned a B.A. from Yale University and has an M.B.A from Harvard Business School.
